UP Budget 2025: State to develop science parks and planetariums
The state budget of Uttar Pradesh was tabled yesterday for the year 2025. State’s Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in his budget speech, outlined plans to establish 4 new science parks and 2 planetariums in the state. Rs 50 crore has been allocated for these facilities.
One of the science cities would be set in Agra for Rs 25 crore, and another science city and planetarium in Varanasi would cost Rs 5 crore. The other Rs 20 crore would be utilized for machinery, fittings, and equipment.
Indore Metro: Joint venture of Tata Projects emerges lowest bidder for underground work
The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) has declared the joint venture (JV) of Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. – Tata Projects Ltd as the lowest bidder (L1 bidder) for the civil construction contract of Indore Metro Yellow Line‘s underground section.
The JV placed a bid of Rs 2190.91 crore. The underground Package IN-05R spreads across 8.626 km and will connect a ramp east of Indore Railway Station with a ramp west of Indore’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport with twin tunnels and 7 underground stations located at Indore Railway Station, Rajwada, Chota Ganpati, Bada Ganpati, Ramchandra Nagar, BSF / Kalani Nagar, and Airport.

United Breweries plans to set up a new brewery in Uttar Pradesh
Owner of popular beer brand Kingfisher, United Breweries, plans to set up a new greenfield brewery in Uttar Pradesh. The proposed unit will have a capacity of 24 – 36 lakh cases a month and would take an investment of Rs.40 – Rs.50 crore.
The brewery is expected to become operational within 12 – 18 months from the date of commencement of construction.
Uttar Pradesh CM inaugurates India’s first biopolymer manufacturing unit in Lakhimpur
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh inaugurated India’s first biopolymer manufacturing unit in Kumbhi, Lakhimpur district. This unit is set by BalrampurChini Mills Ltd (BCML) and is aimed to contribute to achieving the national goal of net zero emissions.
The unit would be set with an investment of Rs 2,880 crore and is expected to begin operations by December 2026.
NTPC to invest Rs 2 lakh crore in Madhya Pradesh
Government-owned NTPC has signed pacts to invest over Rs 2 lakh crore in various renewable energy projects like solar, wind, pumped hydro storage, non-fossil fuel-based, and other carbon-neutral projects in Madhya Pradesh.
NTPC, along with its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has signed multiple MoUs with the Madhya Pradesh government during the Global Investors Summit, being held on February 24-25.
5,000 hectares of land to be acquired by YEIDA
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has plans to acquire 5,000 hectares of land near the forthcoming Noida International Airport (also known as Jewar Airport). This move is intended to enhance the region’s real estate landscape.
