  • LTSCT and Tata Electronics join hands to develop semiconductor chips in India
    L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT) has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Electronics for the development of semiconductor chips in India. The aim is to build domestic design and manufacturing capabilities to cater to next-generation product requirements across automotive, industrial, communications, security, and intelligent-edge sectors, according to a joint statement by the two firms. The partnership brings together fabless chip design innovation of LTSCT and semiconductor packaging and foundry capabilities of Tata Electronics.
  • NTT DATA commits $1.5 billion for an AI data centre in India
    Japanese multinational IT firm NTT DATA has announced a commitment of $1.5 billion to bolster AI-ready data center infrastructure in India. The investment will place a strategic emphasis on sovereign compute and secure data residency and is expected to address critical infrastructure and governance gaps that are currently impeding AI project deployment across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Mukutban-Gadchandur railway line: Indian Railways clears project worth Rs 493 crore
    Indian Railways has given its approval to a 38.21-kilometre rail line between Mukutban in Adilabad district and Gadchandur in Maharashtra. The project, worth Rs 493 crore, is expected to enhance rail connectivity across the Maharashtra-Telangana border region.

    This project is crucial as Mukutban and Gadchandur are important industrial and mining centres, serving several cement plants, coal mines of Western Coalfields Ltd., and nearby limestone mines.
  • Lam Research is planning to develop a silicon component facility in India
    US-based global supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and services, Lam Research has plans to develop its first silicon component manufacturing facility in India. The firm will invest around Rs 10,000 crore in the new manufacturing facility that will support a vertically integrated process spanning silicon ingot production and processing for advanced semiconductor technologies and leading-edge nodes. 
  • Fujifilm to develop a semiconductor materials facility in India
    Japanese firm Fujifilm has plans to invest around Rs 800 crore to set up a greenfield semiconductor materials manufacturing facility in India. According to The Economic Times, the investment will be made in two phases starting in October 2026, with the greenfield manufacturing facility expected in fiscal year 2028.
