Hero MotoCorp to invest Rs 525 crore in Euler Motors, marking its entry in the electric 3-wheeler segment
Multinational automobile maker Hero MotoCorp is going to invest Rs 525 crore in Euler Motors Private Limited, marking its entry into the electric three-wheeler market. Euler Motors is into designing, manufacturing, and servicing of electric three-wheelers, and recently launched its first electric commercial four-wheeler.
According to the updates, the investment will be made in one or more tranches and aims to give Hero MotoCorp a foothold in the growing electric vehicle sector.
Order worth Rs 7,500 crore bagged by BHEL in Gujarat
Government-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged an order worth Rs 7,500 crore for setting up a unit of 800 MW at the Ukai Supercritical Thermal Power Plant in Gujarat. The order is from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) and involves the design, engineering, and supply of emission control equipment.
BHEL bagged an order under international competitive bidding for setting up a 1×800 MW Ukai supercritical thermal power plant (Unit-7) in EPC mode.
JSW Group plans to set copper smelter in Odisha
Multinational business conglomerate JSW Group has plans to set up a 500,000 metric ton capacity copper smelter in Odisha. The project is expected to be operational by 2028-29 and will be getting the feedstock of copper concentrate from Peru and Chile.
As per the firm, the investment would be USD 301.22 million and includes operating copper mines from Hindustan Copper. JSW aims to scale up capacity to 1 million metric tons by 2033/34, supporting its electric vehicle and battery ventures.
YEIDA allots land for ESIC Hospital near Noida International Airport
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to allot 100 acres in YEIDA Sector 11, near the upcoming Noida International Airport, for the development of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation’s (ESIC) medical college and hospital.
The land would be allotted free of cost, and the authority had already secured consent from local villagers for land acquisition and the proposal would be presented to the Yeida board later this month. ESIC, in its meeting last year, gave in-principle approval for setting up medical colleges in 10 locations, including Noida.

Andhra Pradesh government plans to undertake projects worth Rs 3,000 crore in the water sector
The state government of Andhra Pradesh has plans to take the project to quench the thirst of the people in the state. As per updates, the tenders have been invited for the ambitious Godavari Water Grid Project. Further, the work on Vijjeswaram and Dowleswaram costing Rs 3,050 crore is set to begin in the month of April.
Dowleswaram project, with an outlay of Rs 1,650 crore, will supply safe drinking water to 1,713 habitations in Rajamahendravaram Rural, Kadiyam, Biccavolu, and Anaparthy mandals, and parts of Kakinada and Konaseema districts.
On the other hand, the Vijjeswaram project, costing Rs 1,400 crore, will serve Undrajavaram, Peravali, Chagallu, Kovvur, and Tallapudi mandals, as well as areas in the erstwhile West Godavari district. Meanwhile, Polavaram’s right and left banks projects with an estimated to cost of Rs 450 crore and Rs 750 crore are waiting for approval from the Central and State governments.
Uttar Pradesh government approves phase 2 of its 2031 Master Plan
The state government of Uttar Pradesh has approved the Master Plan 2031 Phase 2. According to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the approval is for urban centres in the Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, and Agra areas along the 165km Yamuna Expressway.
YEIDA aims to develop urban areas in these districts, considering the future requirements in these areas, which are in the catchment area of Noida International Airport.
