Danish multinational brewer Carlsberg has plans to open up to three new breweries in India to bolster its supply chain capabilities. This comes after the firm made a recent investment of Rs 350 crore in a Mysuru facility.

The subsidiary of Reliance Power, NU Suntech, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). This agreement is for the supply of solar power backed by battery storage. NU Suntech is developing Asia’s largest single-site integrated solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project. The project will cost Rs 10,000 crore and take 2 years (24 months) to complete. 

After the launch of the Kochi water metro, Mumbai is set to follow in its footsteps. The team behind Kerala’s Kochi Water Metro has been asked to present a detailed project report for the Mumbai project. DPR is expected soon, and a special purpose vehicle (SPV) will be created to implement the project in partnership with the Union government on a 50:50 equity basis. Under the project, battery-powered ferries will connect various parts of the Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR).

Lohiya Group firm, Lohiya Confectionery Pvt Ltd, has set up a new biscuit manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 300 crore at Medchal on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The facility is spread over 7 acres and is a high-speed automated facility has a production capacity of 1,000 tonnes per month, which is expected to be scaled up to 5,000 tonnes per month by 2028-29.

Vardhman Group firm, Vardhman Special Steels Limited, has plans to develop a new Greenfield steel plant in the state of Punjab. As per the firm, the new plant would have a planned billet production capacity of 5,00,000 MT per annum. The firm is likely to incur a capex of nearly Rs 2,000 crore for the project and will be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt. Proposed project is likely to be commissioned by financial year 2029-2030.
