DLF to develop 75 lakh sq ft retail and office space in Gurugram
Real estate major DLF has plans to invest around Rs 6,000 crore to construct 75 lakh square feet of prime office and retail spaces in Gurugram. This comes as the firm aims to meet demand for high-quality green commercial properties, with increased rental income from higher occupancy and rent appreciation.
The firm’s joint venture (JV), DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd (DCCDL), with Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, has commenced construction of 5.5 million (55 lakh) square feet of Grade A plus office spaces in the new phase of its ultra-premium commercial project DLF Downtown, Gurugram. DLF holds a 67% stake in JV.
Microsoft begins construction of IDC campus in Noida
Tech major Microsoft has performed the groundbreaking ceremony and has begun the construction of its new India Development Centre (IDC) campus in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the IDC that would be spread across 15 acres with a built-up area of 1.1 million square feet.
As per update, the facility will serve as a hub for research and development in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
Agra to Gwalior expressway: GR Infraprojects emerges preferred bidder
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has declared GR Infraprojects Ltd. (GRIL) as the preferred bidder for the civil construction of the 88.40 km Agra – Gwalior Expressway. To be executed on Design Build Finance Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) mode, the project has 2 major components:
- Development of a six-lane access-controlled greenfield highway connecting Deori Village on Agra’s Inner Ring Road with Susera Village on Gwalior Bypass
- The second component involves overlaying, strengthening, and executing road safety enhancements on the existing Agra–Gwalior section of National Highway NH-44
The scope of work involves the development of 6-lane of access-controlled Agra-Gwalior GF highway starting from km 0.000 – km 88.400 Deori-Susera in the state of UP-Raj.-MP including the overlay strengthening and improvement works on from 1058.00-1148.00 of NH-44.
Signature Global to set 2 new projects in Gurugram, investment worth Rs 4,000 crore planned
Real estate developer Signature Global has plans to invest Rs 4,000 crore to develop two new housing projects in Gurugram. The firm plans to launch more than 40 lakh square feet of area in two premium housing projects in Gurugram.
Damodar Valley Corporation unveils Rs 1,500 crore project in Bengal and Jharkhand
Government Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has unveiled a Rs 1,500 crore project to modernize power supply within its command area, primarily serving West Bengal and Jharkhand industries.
The aim is to establish a robust distribution network, incorporating advanced technologies like unmanned substations and automated systems to ensure continuous quality power and reduce losses. This project is expected to be completed within 18 months. In phase 1, the firm will deploy 12 E-houses, 8 conventional indoor-based 33/11 KV substations, and 4 GIS-based prefab substations.
Tamil Nadu government to develop a new airport at Rameswaram
The state government of Tamil Nadu has planned to develop a new airport in the Rameswaram area of Ramanathapuram district. As per the information, the state would further fast-track work to set up a second airport at Parandur near Chennai.
These announcements were made during Tamil Nadu’s state budget for 2025-26. The budget also announced the Tamil Nadu Maritime Transport Manufacturing Policy 2025 to revive the State’s maritime heritage and position Tamil Nadu as a global shipbuilding hub.
2.2 lakh sq ft space leased by Smartworks in Hyderabad
Co-working space solutions provider Smartworks has leased over 2.2 lakh square feet of office space at DLF Cyber City in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. With this company’s total footprint in Hyderabad has moved to over 1 million square feet.
This new office space is located in Block 3 at DLF Cyber City.
